Rape or sexual assault

Sexual assault is any type of sexual act occurring without the consent of one of the people involved.

If you have been sexually assaulted or raped there are free and confidential services available to support you.

If you’ve been sexually assaulted, remember it’s not your fault. Please don’t be afraid to get help in an emergency. If your life is in danger, or in an emergency, always call 999. You can also get help at your local A&E.

We aim to provide you with information about the options available to you and will support you in decision you make.

  1.  Immediate medical care of emergency contraception and HIV prophylaxis
  2. If within forensic time frame referral for forensic Centre to Hodge Hill Primary Care Centre, Rough lea Ave, Birmingham, B36 8GH Phone no: 08081685698
  3. Routine medical care for Sexual Health screening and treatment, Hepatitis B vaccine and repeat HIV test
  4. Referral for counselling/crisis point (A&E).

 

Sexual assault referral centres offer medical, practical and emotional support to people who have been sexually assaulted or raped. They have specially trained doctors, nurse and crisis workers to care for you regardless of whether you choose to report to the police or not.
